Shakia is a digital and technology leader based in London, UK. Her work as a content designer includes content creation for international arts festivals, workshop facilitation, digital skills training and consultation. As Global Head of Content, Shakia leads a team of brilliant content designers at the British Council, championing inclusive design and ensuring the user is at the heart of all internal and external products and services created and delivered. Shakia is committed to driving diversity initiatives across the business globally, advocating for equality and diversity in the workplace and beyond. Shakia has a special interest in Black history and the power of storytelling, and has spent time living and working in Spain and Brazil. She currently sits on the advisory boards for the Black Swimming Association and the London, Sugar and Slavery gallery at the Museum of London, Docklands.
